The best-known autumn pond harvest in the Karst area takes place at Olšovec in Jedovnice, this year on 7 and 8 November 2026. It’s a two-day event with Jedovnice carp for sale, fish specialities and plenty of stalls. This year’s season was opened by a smaller, privately owned pond, Dymák, on the edge of Jedovnice, which was fished on Saturday 10 October. According to the organisers, carp there cost 120 Kč per kilo (approx. €4.80 — an indicative conversion, as exchange rates fluctuate). Get there early in the morning, wear wellies and bring a bag or bucket for your fish. Dates can shift depending on water levels, though, so check before you set off.
